I checked out the Web site, and am unable to evaluate exactly what the DVD contains. I am not likely to download it, as 2 gigabytes makes for one huge download. I always take the easy way out and get my DVDs from osdisc.com. Alas, Shackbox is only available as a download from their site. A quick Google check showed that a few glitches need to be ironed out. Live/CDs, or LiveDVDs, can be memory killers.

I would like to compare the software list on Shackbox against what is available from Ubuntu's repository. The Windows software is an interesting addition. If they are running under Wine, you would definitely need a bit of memory and a faster processor. Emulation does not exactly improve performance.

I sure hope their packaging of Shackbox is better then there Web site.

Bill Anderson
WW7BA

On Tue, Feb 17, 2009 at 8:10 AM, Jason S. Evans <jason.s.evans@gmail.com> wrote:
like it might be an interesting Ubuntu derivative to check out.
