<div><br></div><div>Rol is on the committee that actually writes the questions for
the exams. He's a great teacher, I think, and I had a lot of fun
attending his classes. I did this Technician class (the first level),
and then the General class (the intermediate level), and then the Extra
class (the advanced level). <br></div><div>This might be a fun way to learn about
practical applications of engineering versus pure "book learning."</div><div><br></div><div>You'll need a copy of the ARRL Ham Radio License Manual (softcover). The classes work basically one chapter at a
time from cover to cover, at the end of which you'll be ready for the
exam. Each level is a new license, and opens additional frequencies and
communication modes to the operator. <br></div><div><br></div><div>I see that the new edition of the book just came out. New pool of
questions started July 1. Same pool of questions will run through June
30, 2026. The class is a Zoom meeting once per week around 7 pm Eastern
time, if I recall. Book is about $33. The class is free. He typically also teaches morse code for
about a 1/2 hour each week at 6:30, if you're interested.</div>
