Hello,

I use Embarq in Pittsboro (Jordan Lake area). TWC is not available in
my neighborhood. Earthlink connection over Embarq DSL Works ok for
me. Home use, 4 computers, home network with a Juniper hardware
firewall. Working on setting up an HTTP/FTP server and used to run a
mail/FTP server from here before...no real problems, but not a big
demand either.

I'm *really* curious to hear people's suggestions for alternatives in
Durham! We've been using Verizon business-class DSL, which (thanks to
a hefty discount through $EMPLOYER) is essentially free for 3Mb/384Kb.
It's not bad (static IP, no filtering), but I'd love to get a bit more
download speed for the buck if there's another provider that would
offer something better for less than $75/month. TWC is tempting, but
the idea of bandwidth caps for torrenting is keeping me away (does
their business class have that, too?).

In addition, does anyone have experience with Embarq
specifically?
