Internet software development. Developed the software for a spam-eliminating email service Mailscreen.net, while living on savings and working at home. This service works by requiring unlisted senders to pay for transmission of their messages. It promises to grow into a profitable business when further embellished. Written in Java, the service also uses Linux, PostgreSQL, Tomcat, SMTP. During this time I worked as a software developer for Digitalesp in Raleigh, NC (June 2000 November 2000), and Mobile Technology Group in Research Triangle Park, NC (November 2001 February 2002). I also got income by creating and maintaining a web site for a friend's small business, and by teaching a Java course at Omega Computer Training, in Durham, N.C. |
