Rock!

The only thing that could make this script any better is if it
would handle dependencies better. Still, it does a pretty
good job of actually downloading and rpm-ifying cpan modules.

Mike, I'm afraid that with this post you finished your assigned
task. :-) I liked this script so much I installed it and in 10
minutes had the necessary rpms build and installed. That is
sweet!

So, for a follow on task, a much more difficult one....
We need a good set of Access Control Lists (ACLs) for
our ldap server. Right now the ones we have are
just barely adequate (they allow logins, but not much
else). I'd suggest taking a look at http://www.openldap.org/ ,
http://www.bayour.com/LDAPv3-HOWTO.html , and
http://www.ofb.net/~jheiss/krbldap/

Alternatively, I've been thinking about trying to
break down everything that needs to be done with the
trilug servers and how to keep track of what happens
and what depends on anything else, and I was thinking
bugzilla might be a good tool for this. I found an
rpm for bugzilla on the redhat powertools cd and installed
it, but I have no idea how to set it up. So, if someone
would like to set it up, we could use that to
track what needs to be done, what things depend on,
etc... If you're interested, e-mail me and let me know
(because I'll have to set up an account for you on
the new machines...).
