Thanks for the notes!

Some stuff that comes to my mind after reading the notes:

- for SoundCards (even ISA ones), there's the RedHat utility "sndconfig". use 
it from command line. It's pretty good.

- The installer needs 64 MB of RAM to start in GUI mode. If you have a 
videocard that uses shared memory, go for text install, or Anaconda will bite 
you! 

-Anaconda is slower b/c/ has been rewritten using GTK-2 (from Gnome-2.x) with 
Python. IIRC, older Anacondas were also written in Python, although they used 
the (lighter) GTK/GTK+.

- I strongly recommend to set in the bIOS "P'n'P OS=NO".

- Linux Software RAID is pretty stable, AFAIK. It's been included since 7.2 
(IIRC), meaning it's been tested for a while now. As Jason says, though, for 
mission critical, get hardware RAID.
