Hey folks,

Last night we talked quite a bit about the boot process with the two
boot disks (boot.img and bootnet.img), and the driver disks. You might
be interested to know that this process has changed somewhat with the
new beta of Red Hat Linux ("Phoebe 3" or 8.0.94). So if you take the
RHCE after the next version is released, be sure to go over this item
again!

If you're interested in seeing the new setup, take a look at:
ftp://ftp.trilug.org/pub/linux/redhat/linux/beta/phoebe/en/os/i386/images/

As you can see from the README, there is just one boot floppy, and you
need a driver disk for network installs. The other cool thing is the
"boot.iso". I haven't played with this yet, but I think it's an
"ISOLinux" boot CD image that will allow all methods of installation.
So this way you can do a network install by using this special boot.iso
-- needed if there's no floppy drive. ("Syslinux", which relies on the
1.44 MB El Torido floppy image, is no longer used in the 8.0.94 beta.)
