This is no surprise to those of us following Red Hat's moves recently,
but I thought I would highlight it here.

See "Is the RHCE curriculum moving to RHEL 3?"
The answer is a definitive YES, and the first day of testing for RHEL 3
(instead of Red Hat Linux 9) will apparently be on November 21.

So, you will need to either purchase a copy of Red Hat Professional
Workstation (around $80-$90 at resellers/retailers), or a full copy of
RHEL AS, which is $349 from Red Hat. The latter gives you all the
programs needed for praticing for RHCE, or you could use the former
which gives you most things. You can then rebuild from SRPM the
additional components not included in RHPW (such as bind, slapd, etc).
I will also be looking into rebuilding an entire distribution from the
RHEL source RPMS. Dunno how hard this will end up being.
