Congratulations to Cristobal Palmer for being named a steering committee
member after being the only one nominated. Cristobal will serve at
least until May when the entire SC is up for reelection. As there were
no other nominations, an election was deemed unnecessary.
The next meeting of the Triangle Linux Users Group will be held Thursday
March 9, 2006, Red Hat Headquarters (see http://www.trilug.org/ for
directions), 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Paul Unbehagen, CTO of Emu Software
(http://www.emusoftware.com) will discuss how web technologies like
AJAX, DHTML, etc. are helping make faster and more useful Web
applications. He will also discuss the relevance of these new
approaches to the Linux desktop user, as well as how applications that
were once developed specifically for individual platforms can now be
platform neutral without sacrificing functionality.
This meeting will be sponsored by rPath Inc, the Software Appliance
Company (http://www.rpath.com/).
Dynamically Yours,
Joseph Tate
