I don't know of any coordinated local effort, but I did hear Mayor Giuliani
on the radio, on my way
to work, and he said they would welcome any and all volunteer help,
specificallyfirefighters and
those with medical training. So, it sounds like anybody who's a trained
firefighter or EMT or rescue technician, will be welcomed with open arms if
you just show up.
I doubt many people from NC are going to drive to NYC to fight fire, but it
is interesting to hear those
comments from the mayor.
