Subject: LPI Level 2 beta

Hi all -

I'm on a quest to find active Linux User Groups around the world who
might be interested in helping LPI get as many qualified test candidates
as possible to take the Level 2 beta exam.

As a non-profit Linux certification body, LPI does not have the enormous
financial resources of for-profits, but are instead focused on a
vendor-neutral exam offering freedom of choice to Linux users who may
not want to be tied to a specific distribution or training program. The
Level 1 certification program has been very successful internationally,
and we will release the final Level 2 test in November.

Last week (September 4) we launched the Level 2 beta in a single,
extended test format. During September and early October, we need to
get as many professional sysadmins as possible to take the exam. To
incent as many test candidates as possible, the regular price of
$100/test (there will be two tests when it is final) has been reduced to
a single $84 cost during the beta period through VUE testing centers
worldwide.

This is where you come in

We are inviting LUGs and training organizations around the world to
sponsor a proctored exam site which would cost each candidate only $15
to take the Level 2 Beta exam during this time. For those who pass the
beta exam and have already completed Level 1, they will be certified
LPIC-2 and will have access to their test results in early November. It
is a sweet deal at only $15 (as opposed to the final $200). However,
we're sweetening it just a bit more by offering all candidates who take
the Level 2 exam an opportunity to ALSO take the 101 and 102 tests at a
cost of only $15 each. Imagine that it costs $45 to take $400 worth of
tests and in the end recieve the entire set of credentials employers
around the world are increasingly recognizing.

If your LUG (or other group in your area) has around 20 people who are
Linux sysadmins with 3-4 years of experience (or equivalent education),
we can work with you to get an LPI staff member there to administer the
tests for the cost of transportation (and lodging if necessary) only.
Let me know if this is of interest to your group.

Thanks for reading, and please advise if you are interested!
