I have been using a program named Mulberry. It is produced by Cyrusoft. It
is not free, although UNC does have a license for it. The client's spell
checking works well (at least from my use), and it supports
IMAP,POP3,SMTP,LDAP, and a few other protocols. It is pretty easy to
setup, with a 'simple' and 'advanced' layout of the prefs. It runs on x86
Linux, MacOS, Win32, and some other unices.
