[TriLUG] VMware, X and DGA

I'm running Mandrake 8.1 on a ThinkPad.  I just loaded up
the latest version of VMware.  When I try to go to full-screen
mode, it says "XFree86 direct graphics (DGA) initialization
failed.  Can't switch to full screen mode".  It also gives me
a similar message when I start VMware.

So what is DGA and how do I get it?

I was previously running VMware 2 on Mandrake 7.2,
and full-screen mode worked fine...I don't know if the DGA
requirement is new for VMware...or I did something different
during the installation so that I no longer have DGA.
