I wrote up something on this too earlier in the year, before we moved to
fatalpha.  If anyone here archives "everything" there is a posting from me
at my hedemark at bops.com address on syslog configuration.  Around the same
time I wrote up an NTP mini-doc.  I give anyone permission to repost those
anywhere according to Gnu's documentation license.
