 Yes, I ran lilo -v.  The BIOS does have Virus protection but it's off.

And you did run "lilo -v" as root, right?

The lilo.conf looks OK to me. So I knwo that's not it. Does the bios
have a "virus protection" feature that prevents writes to the MBR?
