Greetings TriLUGgers,
I have just gotten DSL from Verizon and all appears to
be working fine, from M$ Windows.... but I am having
troubles using pppoe from Linux. Does anyone else in
the Durham area have Verizon DSL working? If so I'd
really appreciate any advice you can offer. There must
be an easy fix, only being a DSL and PPPOE newbie I am
struggling to find it.
My symptoms are that adsl-start times out, and the
following types of log messages keep showing up:
Nov 17 14:55:04 localhost kernel: PPP generic driver version 2.4.1
Nov 17 14:55:04 localhost pppd[3694]: pppd 2.4.0 started by root, uid 0

Nov 17 14:55:04 localhost kernel: NET4: AppleTalk 0.18a for Linux NET4.0

Nov 17 14:55:39 localhost adsl-connect: ADSL connection lost; attempting re-connection.
Nov 17 14:55:39 localhost pppd[3785]: pppd 2.4.0 started by root, uid 0
Nov 17 14:55:39 localhost pppd[3785]: Using interface ppp0
Nov 17 14:55:39 localhost pppd[3785]: Connect: ppp0 <--> /dev/pts/3
Nov 17 14:56:10 localhost pppd[3785]: LCP: timeout sending Config-Requests
Nov 17 14:56:10 localhost pppd[3785]: Connection terminated.
Nov 17 14:56:14 localhost pppoe[3786]: Timeout waiting for PADO packets

Thanks in advance,
