[TriLUG] question about xine

  ok, i've downloaded and installed xine (along with its prerequisite
libdvdcss and libdvdread libs), manually created a /dev/dvd file and
symlinked it to /dev/scd0, my dvd/cd-rw drive.

  when i run xine, sure enough, i get the ui, but when i press play,
i get

  xine-panel: PLAY
  xine_play: xine open xine-ui version ... blah blah ...
  xine: cannot find input plugin for this MRL

the dvd was automatically mounted at /mnt/cdrom1, and has a directory
structure of 

  audio_ts  video_ts

and inside of video_ts, there are numerous .vob files, so that part
looks good.  what trivial initialization step am i missing?  thanks.
