again, point him to the /etc/fstab. My 7.2 install DIDN'T change it. I had
to manually point it there. Just a hint.

FYI...I have 2 CD's, CD1 is a reader /dev/scd0 and cd2 is a writer
/dev/scd2. I have mod'd my /etc/fstab so they mount /cdrom and /cdrom2.

I know it works under 7.2 . Sounds like an I-D-10-T error.

but ... but ... i have /dev/cdrom1 -> /dev/scd0 on my inspiron (cdrom1,
since that drive is the fixed optical CD-RW/DVD drive, while i have
a modular CD-ROM drive).  so linking directly to /dev/scd0 seems to
work just fine for me.
