Hello
I run skink.net. I can host your stuff for very little money.
Check out www.whereiskathy.org or www.skink.net

Subject: Re: [TriLUG] server up for 262 days
Hi,
I've renewed my subscription to the list. I learn lots when I read
the posts to this group.
I wondering if I could tap the collective knowledge base on web
hosting options. I need a low-cost reliable host for a business
brochure type site to describe my company and product, provide
helpful information, and link to industry related sites. The pages
will most likely be static since that's all that I know how to
produce at this point.
Here are the options I found so far:
a) currently using domains.yahoo.com to redirect to personal web
space on mindspring; looks cheesy, url is not
cloaked/masked/gripped; have 10 Mb which is about right so far.
Here's my place holder site so far. I have a significant upgrade in
the works. www.signalnetware.com
b) URL redirectors with URL cloaking to the personal web space on
mindspring
c) shared host web hosting ($30-200 per year, anyone have stories
they can share about this class of service?)
d) manage my own server and DNS entries using DSL static IP (this
seems like a lot of work and that down time could be significant,
not to mention the significant up front costs)
Anyone care to comment?
Thanks,
Mike
