[TriLUG] Postfix install error

Trying to install postfix by executing 'rpm -Uhv
postfix-20010228_pl08release-3.i386.rpm' results in the message
"ERROR: Postfix can't be installed - Please set your hostname to a FQDN"

my /etc/hosts file has the following entries(substituting fake IP and Host /
Domain):
127.0.0.1	localhost	localhost.localdomain
192.168.1.1	computername	computername.domainname.com

Is this not how/where a FQDN is specified? I've searched the internet and
can't find anything on this error.:-(
