If you folks do decide to have another Ifest on the UNC campus, may I
suggest the SPH McGavran-Greenburg building? It has a very small
parking lot adjacent to the building which you can use off-hours (nights
and weekends). Its also just a block away from Vance and McCauley
Streets which are free parking on nights & weekends. If you have a lot
of heavy computer hardware to drop off, its easy to drive up to the
building (either at the back door on Pittsboro Street or from the
Rosenau parking lot), cart the stuff in, and then park at the nearest
spot (probably only a block or so away). Very few buildings on the
campus allow you to drive up to the building and drop stuff off so
conveniently.

Also, some of the rooms on the first floor of McG have benches instead
of those annoying integrated seat-desks. You can re-arrange the benches
so is *much* nicer for setting up machines and wiring.

You can reserve rooms in McGavran-Greenburg by making an appointment at
the front desk (receptionist) of the adjacent Rosenau Hall. They are
usually helpful and, if you reserve a couple weeks in advance, you'll
probably get the room you want.

Ed
