Are there any clone laptop-makers in the USA. I know that, at least in
Spain, there are a few of those makers (laptop assemblers from Korean and
Taiwanesse parts).
And, because of that, some friends from LUGs have been able to request the
laptop without an OS, prooving that they ad an OS of their own (the typical
Linux CD + boot floppy).
Yes, it is ilegal to sell a full computer in Spain w/o an OS. Sofar, Linux
still qulifies as an OS. Maybe even EMACS qualifies too...
Other vendors, have agreed only to provide the laptops with Linux
pre-installed (by the vendor).
Do you want me to ask them about those laptop-makers? Maybe there are some
in
the US of A ...
