The announcement for the beta versions is made on the mailing list
redhat-watch-list, which you can subscribe to from the Red Hat web
site. I was also forwarded the announcement on various Linux mailing
lists I'm on, although it looks like no one forwarded it to TriLUG.
Here's the information about the redhat-watch-list, if you're
interested:

The main purpose of that list is to announce important errata
releases, but as you'll see, there are occasional other things like beta
announcements.
