I'm using an Olympus C-2040-ZOOM.  To access the pictures, 
#modprobe usb-storage  (if the module isn't loaded)
>mount /camera
and then it behaves like just another filesystem.

I'm running SuSE 7.1, but RedHat 7.2 should be about the same.
