Whoah - that might be too power-user for me right now :) I'm interested in
playing around with Mandrake and Debian at least until I feel more
comfortable with those. Then I might start looking at others. I just have
to have a base to compare everything else to :)

Actually - I was just talking about the way the information on the web site
was organized. Since I'm a newbie and I can't recognize what programs do
just by their names, it was easier for me to get a feel of what Debian
bundles with the distro. I'm sure that when I actually have *something*
installed it'll be easy enought to load/unload programs.

I take it that this is stuff that could be loaded no matter what distro you
have? From this site though they only mention Mandrake. Does Debian come
with comparable software if not the same?

I'm not that into 3D stuff to spend money (at least not yet). The video
editing stuff sounds really cool though. I'll definitely be looking into that!
