The best places to start are probably http://linuxperf.nl.linux.org/
and http://people.redhat.com/alikins/system_tuning.html. Though the
content on the latter has been mostly folded into the former.
The best oracle on linux specific article I've found
is http://www.linuxjournal.com//article.php?sid=5840
http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/DB2-HOWTO/perform.html is written
for DB2, but I belive alot of the info is useful for oracle tuning
as well.
