We have the following open Unix/Linux position

DEPARTMENT:  SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT
SUPERVISOR:  DIRECTOR, PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT 
LOCATION:  CARY, NC

SUMMARY:  This position will be responsible for design, development and maintenance of user interface, system level and database applications that run across multiple UNIX platforms.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  
· Must have experience with AIX, HP-UX, Solaris, Linux, Tru64, C/C++, shell scripts, Java, and Motif.
· Also, must have experience with socket programming.
· Must possess a strong working knowledge of enterprise class, client/server application and system programming.
· UNIX system administration required.
· Oracle and SQL knowledge also required.
· Some initial travel required.	

BACKGROUND REQUIREMENTS:
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
· Excellent technical aptitude, especially in the areas listed above.
· Must support a strong customer-service oriented approach.  
· Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
· Must possess a desire to work closely within a small team.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
· Bachelor's degree; must be highly motivated with a minimum of 6 years prior development experience. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
· Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and written, face to face, and over the telephone with customers and coworkers.
· Must be able to operate a personal computer, printer, fax, and telephone.
· Must be able to type on a keyboard.
· Must possess skills necessary for decision making.
