I've been conversing with Henry off list about the possibility of starting
some newbie documentation. Since I'm still really new at some of this stuff
and I haven't lost my memory yet, I'm going to write down some of the basic
questions that I had. I've also gotten some really good ideas from other
posts on topics to cover. If there are other newbies lurking on the list,
please feel free to email me off list with your questions or input. I'll
try to do a FAQ type thing and if I don't know the answer, of course I'll
be posting to the list again :)
I'm not quite sure where to start with getting it up on the site, so if the
person in charge of that could contact me to let me know what we need to do
- that'd be great. Of course I'll go ahead and start writing and post some
things for review so actually putting anything on the TriLUG site would be
towards the end.
Some of the other stuff that we could get into (such as installing x on y
distribution) could lead to a massive site so we'll need to be careful
about what information we want to put up. We can always supply links
straight to the information needed on other sites, but we also need to make
sure that a newbie can understand the directions. If not, then maybe we can
help that site rewrite their documentation ;)
Let me know if I'm stepping on any toes here - that's definitely not my
intention :)
