[TriLUG] Ping loopback

Why would I not be able to ping the loopback on two RH 7.2 boxes ?
They work just fine otherwise ( apache, ssh all work ).  I've tried
w/ my firewall disable ( which allows all talk lo to lo btw ).  I
have a couple of FreeBSD boxes that work fine. 

Tell me what config files to check, where I might have set something
up wrong.  Neither of these boxes function as routers ( end-nodes ).
