Thanks,  that hit the spot.  It even prompted me for the password to
logon to the XP machine.  I had to use IP versus the computer name but
it works for me.  Next I will attempt a NFS share from a Mandrake box.

If you compiled it with smbmount (linux only) then you can do the
following:

smbmount //proxp/downloads /mnt/card/dos -o username=gmontag (if you are
not
logged in as gmontag).

mount -t smbfs -o username=gmontag,password=som1234
\\\\proxp\\downloads /mnt/card/dos
