Looks like even the current version of sysklogd in unstable still uses
this method to rotate logs, but in general on debian things use
logrotate not this script.  Not sure why sysklogd hasn't switched to
using logrotate.  (In fact there's a bug report 44523
(http://bugs.debian.org/44523) on this.)
