Jeremy,
Here are the results from the survey. Thanks, and I'll see you at a meeting soon.

Regards,
Maria

-------------------------------------------
Number of responses: 21

The average size of the IT staff was 4-5.
A few reported that about a third of the IT staff is MS certified.
In almost all cases, the file/print servers are separate from the mail servers.
More than 2/3 reported that at least a subset of the company uses Outlook.
Oracle was the most commonly reported database in use. PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MS
SQL Server were also reported, with frequency in that order.
No one reported the use of MS Commerce Server.
A third reported the use of Access databases. The access front end was reported as the
most common interface, followed by web, VB and Cold Fusion.
Almost all reported at least some Linux, and all but 2 reported that management was
aware of it. Note that this finding may be expected among a group of Linux enthusiasts.
The average range for the desktop/server ratio was 10 or 20 to 1.
