According to the SuSE 7.3 documentation, X-CD-Roast has a "Duplicate CD" button.
There are apparently two mode, Disk At Once (DAO) and Track At Once (TAO) mode.
TAO may be necessary for older hardware, while DAO is supported by most modern
burners.

P.S. As a solution to my original problem, I burned CD-R (rather than a
CD-RW) which was readable on my ancient CD-ROM drive. I think however,
the long term solution for me is to purchase a more recent CD-RW drive.
