[TriLUG] Re: SPARC Networking Failure

I find this thread really interesting for a couple of reasons, not the
least of which is that I have two Sparc boxen, on currently running
OpenBSD. The other will eventually run Debian, I hope.

Another reason is that I find it amazing that even as this community
comes together, we still have alot of distribution animosity out there.
Not to say that Tanner or John are bigots or zealots. They both have
their preferences, and that's respectable. John might crave more
granularity and simplicity, if not ease, in the administration of his
computers. Tanner might prefer ease, and out of the box functionality,
in addition to greater community support and more apps. Personally, I
think that both are noble goals. I'd like to have more ease of
administration, but for now simplicity will do, so I choose Debian. Of
course, I'd also like to have more apps and community support, but
personally, I don't like the way that RH and Mandrake do some things,
configuration and automation wise. C'est la vie.

Of course, if anyone is willing to help me get USB support working for
my Debian Woody box, I'm all ears. My attempts have been....
frustrating. *chuckle*

Ben Pitzer
