This may be of interest to those of you who may be interested in switching
to wireless to connect two points. According to this press release (with
sufficient amounts of back-patting,) Harris Corp has released a new version
of apparently 'no charge' software to use for planning wireless
installations. It would give you some idea of the amount of juice required
to accomplish a given task. Unfortunately, it is only available in Windows
flavor, but it may be worth checking out. I haven't looked at it myself
yet.
