[TriLUG] Gnome apps vs. KDE apps

I have very little problems running Gnome apps under KDE, or vice
versa...UNLESS they require specific features (like the Gnome Panel or KDE's
Kicker).  Gaim being a specific example.  If it's compiled to use Gnome
Panel support, for some reason it crashes under KDE.  As always, YMMV.

I know you guys are getting tired of me this weekend :) but you've been
so much help - so quickly!

It seems that a lot of the apps that I've been loading lately say they
are Gnome-based apps. I can run these under KDE but was wondering if
they are supposed to run better under Gnome? Am I missing out on
something - or is it ok to run under KDE if they'll run?
