Here I go - asking a newbie question :)

What would the system have to be written in to run on a Linux box? Why
couldn't you take the one written in Perl and run it from your own Linux
box?

You'll really have to forgive me - I'm just learning all this stuff and
how it interacts and I'm sure this is a really basic question that has a
simple answer that I just don't know :)
