[TriLUG] What Makes /proc/bus/usb/devices ?

Hi Folks,

I've updated Redhat 7.2 on my laptop with the 2.4.19 kernel from
kernels.org. It works fine, and I can now use my external USB mouse at
the same time as the internal touchpad after some fiddling.

The problem I've had, albeit minor, is that I can't get the kernel to
make a virtual /proc/bus/usb/devices file. I'm planning to start using
a USB flash memory key soon, and wanted to make sure the right kernel
options were enabled.

I've turned on every non-experimental option relating to USB I can find
(as a module) and even thrown in a few experimental ones, but no luck.

It would also be convenient to use usbview, which requires this file.

Thanks for any clues!

                Scott C.
