The talk in #trilug was centered around bringing machines of many
different architectures running Linux. I plan on bringing one or two
sparcstatons. If I have some time, I'll reload them with Aurora. I've
got a couple of other oddball machines that, if someone well versed in
difficult installs wants to help, we can have a mini-installfest with
before the event. For example, HP 9000 Model 712/60. Or Apple Power
Macintosh 5400/180.

We will have power.

We asked them for three 15 or 20 amp connections, which will be far from
the table so we need to hook up some long extension cords and then some
power strips.

Yes. We can have our own mini-lan. We will need a hub/switch that can
drop down to 10Mbps because many of these oddball machines will only do
10Mbps.
Right now, we have no connection to the outside world. I heard Jon
Turner say earlier that he will check on other options but as it stands
right now the answer is "no Internet".

Excellent idea. Do you want to bring the Windows box?

I think this would be a very good outreach opportunity. Show some of
the cool stuff we can do with it. We've already got cross-platform
stuff covered. As well as scaling down to older slower machines that
wouldn't normally be used today. If someone wants to handle the Windows
machine, we can cover the Samba stuff too.

We have one table and two, maybe three chairs. So we can't go too nuts
here.
