[TriLUG] ipconfig command for Linux

Newbie question about displaying TCP/IP info.
 
I just installed RH8 and 'netcfg' (I guess) is/was not installed.  get
'command not found'
 
Is there a command that will accomplish the same as this NT/W2K command?:
c:\>ipconfig /all (or /renew or /release)
 
Just trying to release then renew the IP from the DHCP server
