A spammer in Oregon was nailed by a 1998 Washington State law that
prohibits email with misleading subjects using a false return address
that solicits money or commerce.

The cool thing isn't that the spammer got fined, but that the law has
been upheld all the way to the Supreme Court (which passed on hearing
the case).

It's a shame that the Feds can't get on-board with this law.  Still,
score one for the good guys!
