Well, it is XDarwin, but it doesn't cost $1000 :)  Check out
http://www.xdarwin.org for downloadable packages or better yet, go to
http://fink.sourceforge.net and download fink for MacOS X. Fink is a
cross between a BSD ports tree and Debian's apt tools. Fink provides
packages for tools such as XFree86 on MacOS X (XDarwin) and lots and
lots of other software.  Using fink you can either have the tool
download, patch, and build packages from source or if available use
apt-get to install pre-compiled binaries.  Fink is a wonderful tool if
you plan on using lots of ported UN*X apps.
