Yeah, I remember that. I was actually going to pay
for RealPlay, but only after submitting all my info
did I find that they had no Linux version - which
didn't make sense, since there are more Linux desktops
now than when they published earlier versions of
RealPlayer for Linux. They were polite and efficient
when I told them not to bill me (which I could do
because of the "14 day trial").
The realplay 8 (free as in beer license) I have now
claims to be covered under a couple patents. While
the PC World article doesn't discuss it directly, it
appears they'll try to use that to enforce a "no
commercial use" policy.
