I roll out some RPMS, specifically when there's no RPM available. You've
seen me announce Quanta's RPMS and similar stuff in this list before.
What I do is follow the "7-Steps-RPM generation HOWTO":
- Get (wget) the source code (tar.gz)
- uncompress the files
- ./configure --help
- ./configure --options --that -I --need (/usr/local/bin vs /usr/bin
and thinks like that)
- make
- checkinstall -> select RPM/DEB/TGZ, provide description, check License
and release
- Done!
