I have not tested this on RH8 because I don't have access to a
RH8 box. Do you know, specifically, what version of perl and
MakeMaker RH8 uses?
I have tested it on Mandrake 9 and it works there. Mandrake
9 uses perl 5.8.0 and MakeMaker 6.03.
