Just to be different...

I assume you have a network card in your PC already... 

Take a look at the WET11 from Linksys,
http://www.linksys.com/Products/product.asp?grid=22&prid=432

It allows any wired device to be connected to a wireless network.

The only thing I can find that would mitigate against this is that it
*might* (we haven't received ours yet) need a windows box for initial
install.  After that you can configure it using the web interface.

It's how I plan to hook my Xbox and (when/if I get it) TiVo up to the
network.
