I've run NT4 under Linux, but not Win2k.  It worked great.

Yes, VMWare builds a 'virtual disk' for Windows (more than one, if you like)
that exists as a file in Linux.  I think you can map an entire Linux partition
as a Windows disk, but I don't know for sure.
