Actually, we found "What to Expect the First Year" to be a fantastic
reference, as long as you don't try to follow every page, step by
step. 

I like to think of it more of a --help than a HOWTO, as it were. There
is no one true HOWTO for parenting...some days, I wish there were *grin*
