Movable Type [1] is really good but it's closed source. If that doesn't 
bother ya - go for it :) They are free for personal use (asking for 
donations) and have a charge for commercial use. It's super easy to 
customize the look by using their templates - one of the easiest I've 
seen. I'm going to check out LiveJournal though just to see what it's 
all about.
