Disagree. The Linux and Open Source audio tools might be immature but
nevertheless you should use them and participate in a user group related to
the tools. Recall that DCMA was brought to you by RIAA. The RIAA will
*never* be an open source booster, will they? OTOH, why does Pixar use Linux
(http://www.architosh.com/news/2002-01/2002c-0130-linuxpixar.phtml)? Why use
sucky open source software? Maybe for the same reason the sucky beginner
plays the same riff over and over.
I found this (http://sound.condorow.net) when I was looking for a software
transcriber similar to the Reed Kotler Transkriber
(http://www.reedkotler.com/transkriber.htm). I like Transkriber but I keep
looking for an open source replacement.
